Privacy Policy
This policy describes how HypeDetector ("we", "us") treats information when you use hypedetector.net and related services. If you use our Chrome extension, the extension store may collect data under its own policies in addition to what is below.
What you send us
When you run an analysis on the website, your browser sends the video identifier, optional transcript or title text, sensitivity, and category to our servers so we can return a result. We do not require an account for the free web tool.
What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account to use the basic web analyzer.
- We do not sell lists of individuals or "lead" data from this tool.
- We do not use your pasted URLs to train public models unless we tell you otherwise in a separate notice.
Cookies and storage
The site may store preferences in localStorage or sessionStorage (for example theme choice or recent analyses on your device only). You can clear these from your browser settings.
Third parties
We rely on infrastructure and APIs (for example YouTube metadata, transcript providers, and our analysis backend). Those services may log requests according to their terms. Links to the Chrome Web Store, payment providers, or social share buttons may set their own cookies when you use them.
Retention
Server logs and analysis payloads may be retained for a limited time for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We do not keep them forever as a default user profile.
Children
HypeDetector is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the service if you are not old enough to agree in your country.
